Palm Springs -> Seattle -> New York City

So I got back from Camp Mighty yesterday and as it turns out, today I'm off to New York City for a yet to be determined amount of time. Likely, 30 days or more.  And no, the space aliens above (played by the lovely Alyson, Caitlin, & Elisabeth) did not send me there with their ray guns.

While this wasn't a trip I had been planning in advance, I knew it might be a possiblity. I'll be headed out there for work and I'm not sure how much time I'll have in my schedule for writing and posting. So, we'll see how it goes. I still have all those experiences from Iceland, France, Spain, Denver, and Portland to share with you along with my recent trip to Palm Springs to attend Camp Mighty.

I had also planned to write a post about ideas for Thanksgiving, but given the abrupt change in plans I did not have time - in fact, I'm not even sure if I'll be having much of a Thanksgiving this year. If I was, I would certainly be making our Maple & Sage Roast Turkey, Stuffing, and Apple Pie.

This will be my first visit to New York since going gluten free. So if you have any recommendations for where to eat, especially in the Brooklyn area, I'd love to hear them!

I keep a running list of GF-friendly places in NYC; here's the current version: http://gfbird.blogspot.com/2012/11/nyc-gf-friendly-eatery-list.html (Scroll down for spots in Brooklyn.)

I'm so curious to hear more about how you fared with your GF diet at Camp Mighty! Attending is on MY life list, but I'm wary because of my need for completely GF food.
